RAFI TURN-OVER 26-CLASSROOM BUILDING IN SAN REMIGIO

SAN REMIGIO, CEBU – At least 26-classroom buildings worth 26 million were turned over to 8 Elementary Schools in the Municipality of San Remigio by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) in simple rites held last July 04, 2017.

Engr. Ernesto Alix, RAFI Educational Development Unit Director, Engr. Alan S. Capuno, RAFI Area Project Manager, Mayor Mariano R. Martinez, SB Member Miguel Martinez, the respective School Principals, Barangay Officials and PTA Presidents attended the turn-over ceremony held at Tambongon Integrated School.

The beneficiaries were Bagtik Elementary School, San Miguel Elementary School, Calambua Elementary School, Gawaygaway Elementary School, Libaong Elementary School, Toong Elementary School, Looc Elementary School and Tambongon Elementary School.

Mr. Joel Burog,a school principal of Tambongon Integrated School extended his heartfelt thanks to RAFI and the LGU for the new school classroom given to them. He said that they can now provide a conducive environment to school children.

According to Engr. Ernesto Alix of RAFI, the foundation’s advocacy is to help the Department of Education provide effective learning environments and to promote quality education.

RAFI provided funds in constructing new school classrooms with a counterpart of 10% by the LGU. Aside from that, their doors are also open for the possibilities of implementing new opportunities for education with Mayor Mariano R. Martinez for the Kusina Ng Kalinga Program.

For his part, Mayor Mariano R. Martinez said: “Gitan-aw man gudnakongaanglungsodtaasog poverty incidence. I looked at examples of the foreign countries dirilang sa Southeast Asia. In 2014, RAFI turned over the 1st batch of 11-classrooms buildings making San Remigio as the municipality with the highest number of schools in the entire province of Cebu.
